Elizabeth: The Golden Age

I went and saw Elizebeth: The Golden Age last night. Awesome movie. A little bit too much in a few bits, but overall the acting was strong, the cinematography was wonderful, the costumes were *sigh* Oh Sooo Pretty, and the casting was great. The historical 'facts' weren't all correct, but they are popular beliefs, so I don't fault the filmmakers there.

The movie is about Elizabeth the 1st of England, and the threat of the Spanish Inquisition ("Our weapons are surprise..."). Well done. They had everything; Mary Queen of Scots, The Spanish Armada, John Dee, and lot's of other things that made it seem quite researched. Of course, having some of the facts worng made it a little hard to believe, but it was still great.

I recommend this flm to everyone. 4.5/5 stars.

NUMA NUMA ISN'T REAL!!!

I was looking up Numa Numa on google, hoping to find more of Gary (OMG there's so much) and I found out that the name of the song IS NOT Numa Numa. I was so upset. Istead it is called Dragostea Dei Tei.

Here is the REAL music video...

two more
I've seen two more movies since the last time we spoke; The Lives of Others, and The Departed.
The Lives of Others (starring Ulrich Mühe who unfortunately died this past June) was somewhat slow, yet had some very redeeming qualities which in the end made me not so upset that it won best foreign film at the 2007 oscars over Pan's Labyrinth. The story follows playwrite Georg Dreyman and his girlfriend Christa Maria Sieland (an actress) who focus mainly on performing and writing socialist plays. The Stasi becomes suspicious of Georg's intentions and ideas, and so have him observed and listened to. SS agent Wiesler is instructed to survey them, but becones fascinated by their stories. Although I would rather buy Pan's Labyrinth than this film, The Lives of Others is definitely oone worth seeing.
The Departed (starring Matt Damon and Leonardo Dicaprio with Martin Sheen, Mark Wahlberg and Jack Nicholson) was good. Not great, but good. i'm glad Scorsese won the Academy Award, because he deserved it for all he had done in his career, but he did not deserve it for this film. The film follows two cops, one posing as a gang member in order to help the cops, and the other posing as a cop in order to help the Mafia. It is an extremely violent and somewhat upsetting film (and I must say confusing) but well worth seeing....
**BEWARE--HERE ARE SPOILERS**
I was VERY upset when Martin Sheen's character was killed. Aww. Poor Martin.
Also, here is a bit of fun trivia- the final body count for the film was 22. It seemed like more while watching, but in the end, I guess it wasn't.

That's all. I'll update when I have more.
Bye
