I'm sorry I haven't been updating... No excuse. I've seen many many movies since Elizabeth: The Golden Age, but it would take way too long tell you about all of them, so I will review the most recent of those movies, Beowulf, which I saw last night. If you haven't read the story, that's okay. You don't need it, but it does add a little bit of knowledge. I read the story literally 12 hours before seeing the movie, and after I'd read it, I wasn't overly thrilled. It was just some viking killing people and then NOT taking rewards! How lame! Then I saw the movie. I did enjoy the movie. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. But in the movie, get this, Beowulf is flawed! In the story he's perfectly noble and heroic, and cannot do anything wrong. However, in the movie, he is arrogant and apparently, overly lustful. I was dissapointed leaving the theatre because I felt that Beowulf wouldn't protect me in my sleep. He'd just brag about how he'd killed 50 monsters from the deep. So, although the poem is somewhat lame and boring, I do prefer it to what the final project turned out to be like. The movie was good! It really was! I just would prefer to see some REAL heroes than these flawed wannabes that we seem to be getting so much of these days... PS- GO HERE! http://reelintelligence.blogspot.com/ |
